The Mayor's Office of Santiago de Cali, in collaboration with ICESI University, will present various experiences of Metropolitan Areas in Colombia, focusing on cases from the northern, central, and southwestern regions of the country. This event will serve as a prelude to the popular consultation process on November 24th, through which the Southwestern Metropolitan Area of Colombia will be established.

The Urban Talks session, organized in collaboration with the Marmara Municipalities Union Sustainability and Climate Change Center, Urban Policy Center and Boğaziçi University, will focus on the role of Istanbul’s energy and water footprints in a just transition, in line with the World Metropolitan Day 2024 theme, “Leading the Just Transition.”

Argüden Governance Academy will host a webinar with the participants from the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (Council of Europe), London School of Economics-Cities and Institut Metropoli (Barcelona) over the topic on Better Metropolitan Governance for Sustainable Future: Integrated Planning and Stakeholder Engagements.
